Good as gold...

All our gold, be it yellow, rose, or white, is either 18k or 14k.

Karat is a measure of the purity of gold, pure (100%) being represented as 24 karats.

1 karat is therefore approximately 4.167% gold
This can be easily explained as 100 / 24 = 4.167

Therefore, 18k gold is;
18 x 4.167 = 75% pure gold

and, 14k gold is;
14 x 4.167 = 58.33% pure gold

The remaining percentages are alloys which affect the colour
(especially with rose and white gold), but also make the gold
harder (24k 100% gold is too soft to use) as well as qualities
like protecting it from tarnishing.
